Forest and Water
Konnichiwa! Hi from Ben and Sachi ...
That's us cooking our first breakfast on arrival at Moritomizu (Forest and Water), a backpackers' guesthouse in Nagano, Japan. We were warmly welcomed inside from the Winter cold before the owner, Aki took us to the kitchen to make a breakfast for three.
We tucked in to tea, buttered toast and leek and potato soup. We have come to stay as 'Wwoofers', working at the guesthouse in exchange for Aki's hospitality, and we were already discovering how things work around the kitchen. He certainly strives to make his guests feel at home!
Nagano is not a very big city, and in every direction there is a beautiful backdrop of stunning, snowy mountains. We want to stay for a much longer time yet, so look out for our next post ... Until then, matane!
